I thought of that while riding my bicycle.

Klitmøller 2023

Another relaxing interesting day on my journey north. I started with a visit to the Snail (although shell seems a more appropriate word) House. A beautiful little home built by Alfred for his wife. Designed to attract visitors from far and wide it was once a cafe and is now a museum. And indeed visitors have come from the world over to see it.

After that little surprise (I only found out about it by looking for groceries) I headed off to the ferry. Despite Google’s* insistence that I drive into the sea, I found the port and got a ticket. A short hop and onto the next part of my journey.

I was back again into the sand dunes but this time a little more wild with fewer Sommerhus. Travelling along with the wind at my back I made good time stopping to picnic and take pictures but otherwise rolling along quite happily.

After pitching in another gale (it’s eerily calm now) and making good use of the camp kitchen I went for a wander on the beach. I was expecting a little more in the way of waves as we are in ‘Cold Hawaii’ but, things are rather sedate.

*I have a map but at 1cm to 5km it’s tricky to follow finer points of navigation like paths by roads or apparently, the location of ferry ports.
