Angers

As today is the last Sunday of the holidays (next week, the day before work, hardly counts). I am making it a very French day. Steve has been lost to tapestries so I am let loose on my own again. Of course I would usually use such time to shop but, it's Sunday so no chance.

I have been around an antiques market, visited the Cathedral and am now having a long Omelette Frites lunch.  I hope to find a museum in the afternoon then back to the hotel.  Tomorrow we are heading to Blois for the last 2 nights before the long journey home.

Angers has been all about the tapestries. On our first day we visited the Musee Jean Lurcat which houses contemporary exhibitions as well as the fairly impressive 'Song of the World'. The next day we went to Chateau D'Angers to see the Apocalypse Tapestries (very old, very impressive), the subject of Steve's meanderings today. We also spent some time in the Beaux Arts and the Gallerie David D'Angers.

In between all these cultural activities I have been crocheting and watching dubbed re-runs of tatoo based American TV - because life is all about balance.
