It's been months since I donned Lycra. In fact, due to the adverse weather (and general laziness) it's been over a week since I climbed aboard my bike.
I have used the poor weather as an excuse and despite the shortness of my commute my body isn't best pleased. Lack of exercise coupled with perhaps a little over indulgence at christmas have lead to a spread of winter padding. The uphill commute is looking like a chore and, quite frankly it's nice to arrive ready to go. Make up on, clothes none sweaty, hair none helmeted.
But, no more! The arrival of my cycling magazine has motivated me. (As I hardly ever buy kit, don't ride sportives, don't commute in London -really CA it is getting a little repetitive- that seems to be its sole role in my life). I'm planning a sponsored ride soon with some friends so I suspect I'll need to be fit for that. And I think I'll have a little borders tour in the February break (credit card, not camping, I'm not mad).
How have I garnered this motivation? Well. I read about fitness. I read about turbo trainers. I looked up the availability of front fastening sports bras. And I blogged about it.
I'm thinking of heading into town to get a new os map...
But on my bike. That's a start.
