I thought of that while riding my bicycle.

Holey hell

I got a puncture.

Again.

I'm not used to this. On Nordie (the tough touring machine) I have steely hard continental numbers. Hard as nails.

Honestly, I pulled a nail out of one and carried on my merry way. I didn't like to mention it at the time (in Slovakia) as it felt somewhat like tempting the puncture gods to smite me. Well, they're onto me and my smugness now.

The last puncture (2 weeks ago) was the result of a teeny tiny little thorn. This is not the standard I'm used to. This is also why I went for the cross. Imagine what I'd do to a road bike?

Autumn isn't kind to the cyclist- slippery leaves, dark nights, warm/cold clothing clashes...punctures are far too irritating to add to the list.
