I thought of that while riding my bicycle.

24th July Vienna, rest day

So, I planned carefully (a capital city, in one day? Such planning is necessary) then the underground line was closed so all my planning was kaput. I managed to negotiate the trams instead and have been on the Giant Wheel and (via un-closed underground) to the Freud museum.

At a cafe I tested my German skills by sending food back. (Veggie pasta garnished with ham) and then got on another tram for the museum quarter.

Hofburg is amazing. Big BIG buildings. All very impressive. All very stately. I looked into lots of ticket offices, decided they were too busy to be worth the money (I don't like crowds, you can't see anything or think) and so I looked at the gift shops instead.

One visit to Stephansdom and that was me done for the day.

I caught an underground tram back and am now in the bar (turns out to be a drink-less bar) downloading The Third Man for the evening's entertainment. On to Bratislava tomorrow.

(note the carriage driver, rather overcome by the weather I suppose)
