In just over a week I will be on my way. The boats and trains are booked, my bike has been serviced (new chain, cassette and spoke); maps have been scrutinised. I love a map. Rather than moving around a lot I plan to pick a spot, stay there and explore around about it. This will be fewer miles but far more fun. I'm guessing it will be wet so at least my tent will have time to dry out. I have invested in a down sleeping bag after spending so many nights freezing my toes off. And will be taking my liner too. No point in relying on 'summer' time.
So far I have planned a Netherlands route from Amsterdam, to Delft, into de Biesbosch and then down to Antwerp. After that, I'll have a think...
As its the first day of summer and term is almost over, I am using my Friday afternoon to practice for the holidays. I'm at Modern Two (a rebrand too far if you ask me) for lunch. The weekend is set aside for packing (I'm hoping that by doing it early I will avoid the traditional first week jettison - overly optimistic perhaps) and tweaking.
