I thought of that while riding my bicycle.

Last day

Today, another train day, is the last of the holidays. Nordie is packed away, wrapped again in a ground sheet and sleeping mat. This time also cocooned in my sleeping bag liner (multi tasking equipment is the key to cycled touring).

We have taken the fast bike free train out of Germany and so had to pack the bike away. No hassle about the luggage this time. When we get to
Paris I will put him back together. Walking to the hotel carrying that bulky weight would be impossible.

Its odd, exciting, disappointing...lots of things to think I'll be home tomorrow. I'll be able to go to the pub and pay as I order rather than sitting around trying to catch a waiters eye then waiting some more as they track down the bill. I'm looking forward to that. I'll have a whole wardrobe full of clothes and more than three pairs of knickers. That's always handy. My suntan will fade as the peddle bruises almost have. But I'll miss my tent. I'll miss Don and the maps. I'll miss finding odd little things that no one else is there to notice. I'm already missing the cycling.

I'm already planning next year.
