Overall the weather was good. One rainy mile but apart from that, a little breeziness, the sun (hidden by the clouds for the most part) continued to shine.
I have resolved today to fall out with sustrans and their national cycle network. I followed route 76 for a while but that faded out at some point. A little while later I picked up route 1. As a result I have spent a lot of time cycling through fields. Not even stony fields. Just fields. Then the signs disappeared and I spent some time (2 miles) walking through bogs. Not that it was only me who guessed the wrong faded sign was my sign. The many many cycle tracks were testament to that.
Anyway Lindesfarne is lovely if slightly further than I had planned. The b and b is ok, the meal was nice. Now it is tv on and relax. I have had a look over the map for tomorrow, I'm still not sure where to stop but will try to get quite near to newcastle to give myself a nice short ride on Sunday.
