I thought of that while riding my bicycle.

I'm still here!

I realise it's been a while since I have updated but, Internet access has been hard to find.

I have just passed the 666.6 miles mark so, two thirds of the way there. The rain and wind stopped at Auckland but the hoards of black flies started after York. I have developed a preference for hills and turns over long straight flat roads but particularly dislike the Roman approach to road building.

I have spotted some buzzards, a kestrel, a slowworm and a red kite.

Bike shed keys have been attached to cubes of wood, a coat hanger, a teddy bear and a fish -slice.

The best moment so far was crossing the border over the Cheviots, beautiful views and a great sense of achievement.

Dad joined me in York and it has been good to have some company, he seems to be enjoying himself and is far fitter than me.

At the moment we are in a cafe in Leicester on my way to Stratford-upon-Avon where a rest day awaits, hopefully I should be able to update you on my progress then.
