I thought of that while riding my bicycle.

Rendezvous

I'm hanging around at a station again, but this time for a good reason - I'm meeting Lizzie. Lizzie is a friend from school who recently moved here and happened to say 'if you're ever passing through'. We're going for a picnic. I just payed £8 for coffee and a croissant so I can see why.

Last night was another little adventure. A bit of last minute panic when the platform said Munich but , quickly resolved. I had lots of tickets - one for me and 4 for my bike. And a sticker. I asked a few people what to do with them but no one knew. In the end I stuck the sticker on and took the tickets.

Now, I usually feel a bit sick and then fall asleep on trains. So, after taking travel sickness tablets I was out for the count. No one bothered us for passports at the border and on we trundled. At silly o'clock in the morning an alarm started squealing. I thought at first it was the emergency stop until an announcement told us we'd be here for a while.

Ever nosey I clambered down from my top bunk to see what was going on. Tons  (6 but it looks like a lot. They have guns you know) of police and an irate conducter shouting at people running for the train. In the end we summarised that there were people without reservations refusing to get off. I assume they did in the end because we eventually started to move.

The final border crossing into Switzerland was fairly event free. The police woman came in to establish who speaks German then asked if anyone had a bike. Lucky that's a word I understand so I piped up. I should have asked her which of the many tickets should actually be on the bike.

Anyway. I got up, had a wash in the tiniest cubicle ever and here I am. Waiting for a picnic in the sun.
