I thought of that while riding my bicycle.

Day Five

Another day done. It was a short day but, I’m beginning to find my walking feet.

I have to say, last night I had the best sleep I’ve had for ages. I had fallen off before in went dark and didn’t wake until the alarm went in the morning. Quite blissful.

Before setting off I started to plan my day. Power running low I resolved to find a campsite or B&B. Obviously Fridays in the height of summer made this challenging but I found a lovely little place who promised an evening meal too.

Knowing it wasn’t far and I couldn’t check in until mid afternoon I had a relaxing start. A cup of coffee and an egg roll in a little cafe. A chat to a couple from Coniston (small world etc.) then onto the trail again. Up into the woods and beautiful loch views. Come 1pm I was less than an hour away so I sat and ate a leisurely lunch and read a bit of my book. Eventually I set off, arriving in the village a little early so I sat for an ice lolly and chilled.

To the B&B which really is delightful. Devices are charging and new audio books are downloading (until now I’ve been listening to Rob Roy by Walter Scott - I always like to start with a culturally relevant book) I’m having a three course meal, a massive (by the sounds of things) breakfast and they’re doing me a packed lunch. The room is beautiful to and the bath in which to soak my feet is very welcome.
