I'm enjoying a relaxing post-cycle holiday with Steve.  I arrived at the hotel in Nantes after cycling a roundabout filled route along the outskirts of the city. We ate at their pricey restaurant (which being tres posh had precisely no vegetarian options but kindly offered me stir fried veg which makes a change from omelette) and then cracked open the champagne I'd carted along the last leg of the journey. What a romantic!
Over the next few days we explored the town before catching the train back up river to the next stop of our holiday, Angers.
The Machines of the Ile. That was the elephant that soaked me.
I've noticed a lot more recumbents this holiday, but none with their own piano.
Cycle friendly station but not a cycle friendly train. Not only did it have the 'high hooks' - Which fill me dread as I'm not a weightlifter - but the hooks were too close to the wall making it nigh on impossible to install your bike unless you had thin road tires. And you have to unpack it. Luckily I nabbed a space elsewhere and smiled sweetly at the guard.
We had an interesting chat to the Spanish couple - also with bike. I think they'd started from near St Sebastian but I can't be sure as we had no language in common instead we pointed a lot in google maps.  They had 2 panniers between them and so took photos of my 5 bag one tent set up*.
Country hotel on the outskirts of Nantes - that's our room to the right.
City centre hotel in Angers, that's our room behind the N.
*Packing guide -
Front = kitchen, bedroom
Back = clothes, toiletries, tools, shoes, wool, heavy food ... Other miscellany
