I thought of that while riding my bicycle.

Bresancon 16km

A day off. It rained.  That's three days without more than a half hour's break, just in case you're counting.

After a lazy morning in the tent I cycled down into town, my directions slightly hampered by poor visibility. I had a rather nice lunch and then looked around the museum of time. There was an alarm clock that fired a minature cannon with the aid of a little candle. I also visited Victor Hugo's birth place and the Astronomical Clock. The clock was rather spectacular with dials for all manner of things. It made the most satisfying series of ticks, clicks and whirls on the hour.

After my sight seeing I had a look around town with the notion of finding some water proof trousers and maybe a hat but, no luck.

When I got back the way into the site was blocked by a flood. I've picked slugs off everything. My panniers, although good at keeping the water out are damp after sitting on the damp grass in the damp tent. I put my clothes in the tumble dryer and the came out damp.

The weather is due to improve over the weekend so by the time I reach the Loire the sun should be shining.

I reserve the right to moan about the heat.
