I set off from my Ashurst site, following the path first through the woods then over the heath. The cross winds were strong and the path wasn't exactly a cycle one, still, it was invigorating.
I got to Brockenhurst where I had anaemic nachos for lunch (one of those things I've missed whilst being away and then been disappointed by when I get back). I followed a road called 'Ornamental Drive' towards an ancient tree I had read about in yesterday's paper.
At the car park I left my bike and heading towards the Knightwood Oak. It rained a bit.
Back on my bike the last stop on my tour was a deer viewing area. No deer but an ice-cream van. So I bought a boozy fudgey cone and looked at where the deer sometimes were.
I added a waterproof layer, (partially for the occasional showers but more for the warmth on the down hill) and headed back to good old Lyndhurst.
I enjoyed my cycle, having not been far over the past few days I was missing it. On an unloaded bike you can't feel the push as much, which surprisingly I miss. The hills however, were a pleasure.

After a while you get pony blindness. You assume every large mammal is a pony. That is in fact a cow (or a bull, its lying down so who knows).
Ponies on site.
Enough ponies?
